Care & Reshaping of Kenyan Sisal Baskets: 
Sisal is a tough, spiky plant that produces a durable fiber. 

1) Use cold water when you reshape your basket to prevent dye from bleedings
2) Spray the basket creases with a water bottle or if the entire basket needs reshaping, saturate it
3) The natural fibers will absorb water and become more pliable, so let it rest for 10-15 minutes
4) Shake out any excess water. Then mold the basket by hand to your desired shape.
5) Find a warm place in the sun to allow your basket to air dry. If the bottom of your basket is dyed, be careful of dye transfer
6) If you're reshaping the entire basket, you may wish to stuff the basket full with crumpled newspaper as it dries to help it maintain the desired shape.

This process can be repeated as often as needed. Please note if you select local pickup your basket will be available to pickup tonight! If you traveled from out-of-town please feel free to choose to ship your basket to your home address when you check-out.
