This earthy collection is inspired by the rich God-colors we find in creation as the globe yields a harvest palette of rich, ripe hues. Before fall ushers in the darkness of winter, it gives us an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of our labor, and to pull out a chair so we can share our bounty with others. This handmade collection—the fruit of artisan labor—not only puts food on the table for Kenyans and refugee makers empowered by Mercy House Global; it also serves as a reminder to share the light in the darkness.
“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine!” Matt. 5:15-16 (MSG)
ARTISAN DETAILS: Miujiza
Shosho means grandmother in Swahili. At Mercy House Global, the grandmothers to the miracle babies at Rehema House are part of an artisan group called Miujiza. This miracle group is a beautiful example of how we break the cycle of generational poverty from grandmother to teen mom to baby. Much like the clay beads, they mold from the Kenyan earth, their redemption story is a work of art. Just as the ceramic beads are connected to form a bracelet, you are a part of this story.
Stack together or wear them alone, you won't want to take these green-colored Miujiza bracelets off! With an earth-tone hue, these bracelets could be worn in any season, and they yield a fresh take on bracelets from our Spring collection. When you purchase and wear these bracelets you quite literally share the light -- when you wear hope, you give hope!
