Caring for Korah exists to love and serve the poor in Korah, Ethiopia. The Korah community is formed around the capital city’s largest garbage dump. Through child sponsorship, community outreach, and dignified employment their goal is to help keep families together. Our product is made by women in the Korah community. Caring for Korah’s desire is to empower these women to create generational change for themselves and for their families.
“Caring for Korah has helped my son get an education and has also given me work. Before I joined this group, life was very hard as a single mother. I was doing many small jobs to try and care for my son. I often had to leave him with neighbors while I went to look for work. It was a struggle. Being a part of this group has helped me to learn sewing skills. It has given me other women I consider family and they care about me and my son. I am able to work, pay rent and care for my son all by myself. My son is happy and we spend each night together – I am grateful to God for His provision." - Salem
